2013 Respect For Law Camp

Information

Warning: This weekend will require participation in physical activities including marching and push-ups.

DRESS CODE

Shirts – Any shirt that covers the shoulders (T–shirts, polo shirts, button-up shirts okay) and does not advertise any inappropriate subjects (alcohol, tobacco, etc.)  No “A” shirts, muscle shirts or cap sleeves.


Pants/Shorts – Clothing must fit appropriately – no oversized clothing.  Bermuda-style and Denim shorts or pants are appropriate; athletic shorts are acceptable as long as they are not tight.  Pants and shorts that have belt loops must be belted and worn at the waist.  Shorts should fall JUST ABOVE THE KNEE.


All black attire is not allowed


Footwear – “Sneakers” are acceptable.  No flip-flops, sport sandals, or open back shoes.


Sleepwear – Appropriate clothing for going to and from the showers is required.


Any camper who is wearing clothing that the staff deems inappropriate will be asked to change.  If suitable clothing is not available or cannot be brought to the camper, the camper will be asked to leave the camp.


They must wear appropriate clothing TO an FROM the showers.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The campers will be sleeping on campus during the weekend and the below listed items will be required.



1.Sleeping bag or bed sheets and pillow

2.Health and comfort items (deodorant, towels, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc.)

3.Change of clothing shorts or other clothes suitable for light exercise, a spare pair of shoes. (Ball caps will be provided.)

4.Appropriate attire to walk between their room and the showers.


No money will be needed by the camper for the weekend!!!!


Please do not send any candy or snacks, all food and snacks will be provided to the campers. If your child has special dietary needs please let us know before May 21, 2013.


The campers should not bring anything of value, such as jewelry, cellular phones, radios, walkman, game boy, or any other electronic games/devices.


Respect for Law Camp Check In will be on Thursday May 30 from 7:00 am to 9:00 am, at Bishop Verot High School.


Bishop Verot High School is located at 5598 Sunrise Drive in Fort Myers.


Parents are required to accompany the campers into the building and stay with them throughout the check in procedure. Please have your driver’s license or other picture identification available for the notary public at check in.


Parents, your children are in good hands for the weekend. The campers will be advised of the rules and regulations for the weekend and will be required to adhere to these rules. If discipline is necessary it will be in the form of push-ups, sit-ups or other physical exercises.

If your child becomes unmanageable we will contact you to pick them up from the camp. We ask that you leave emergency telephone numbers with us for the purpose of contacting you should an emergency situation arise.


Drill Off is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. on Sunday June 2, 2013. Graduation is scheduled to immediately follow starting promptly at 12:00 p.m. Please plan to attend this very special time in your child’s life. You will indeed be proud of what your child has accomplished at the end of the weekend. Drill Off will be held in the gymnasium and the Graduation will be held in the gymnasium on the Campus of Bishop Verot High School.


Parents, if your child is on any prescription medication or needs any non-prescription medication, please provide it for them.  We cannot give any medication to your child without your authorization.  We will have an E.M.T. on staff for the weekend and he/she will be responsible for the dispensing of any medications your child may require. Please advise the medical staff of any medical needs your child has during the check in process.

Even if your child does not take medications the medical release form needs to be completed should your child have a headache or need basic needs.
